Committees
The VCU African American Alumni Council has six active committees responsible for carrying out the goals and mission of the organization. We encourage all AAAC members to consider serving on one of the committees listed below to help sustain the AAAC's continued growth and vitality.

Budget – prepares the Council’s budget, analyze funding requests submitted by the committees, and oversee expenditures throughout the year.
Bylaws (and Standing Rules) – periodically reviews The Council’s bylaws, policies, and procedures, monitors the Council’s adherence to its bylaws, ensures that parliamentary procedures are being followed during membership meetings.
Professional Development – establishes career development programs and strategies geared toward VCU African-American students and alumni.
Programs and Events – recommends, develops, and coordinates Council programs and events for the year. The committee will also explore potential fund raising opportunities.
Co-chair: Jackie Tunstall Bynum and Rumae Foddrell
Public Relations – develops strategies to improve the Council’s exposure and visibility, increase membership, and enhance the use of the Council’s web site.
Scholarship – recommends, develops, and coordinates the Council’s scholarship programs and its criteria.
